ABOUT ME
I'M A MANAGEMENT THINKER,
researcher, entrepreneur and educator based in Oman. I’m the Head of Faculty of Business Administration at Majan University College. I have previously worked as a lecturer of Tourism Development and Marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University, London branch and the University of Essex, which is also in southern England. I possess a wide range of industry and academic experience from middle to senior-level management in the Tourism and hospitality industries. I have been delivering courses across a range of disciplines and audiences to hotel employees from various nationalities and led and taught courses in marketing, strategy and branding to postgraduate and undergraduate students at Glasgow Caledonian University and Essex Business School. I have received excellent feedback in regards to my e-teaching methods and I constantly strive to use new and up to date tools to deliver my modules.
I have written in the area of tourism and on the management of impacts of tourism development in a book chapter. I am also committed to publishing high-quality journals and more importantly looking to collaborate with researchers from various disciplines to publish articles about tourism in general and marketing and strategy in particular.
My career began in the tourism and hospitality industry, and I’m still working hand in hand with the industry as a researcher, practitioner and consultant. Prior to my academic career, I worked as a general manager for two different hotels, gaining strong practical experience while also building up relationships with various Omani government bodies. Moreover, I’ve been involved with various international exhibitions in the field of tourism and hospitality, such as International Tourism Berlin (Germany), Arabian Travel Market (Dubai), and the Hospitality Show (UK).
I am currently leading the largest faculty in the college and previously worked as a Director of Quality Assurance where I have built a strong knowledge on developing and promoting a quality mindset across the organisation. This includes working closely with all faculties and taking the lead in developing quality assurance policies, frameworks and guidelines for College-wide application;
My area of interest lies in the field of tourism, management, marketing, Business Development, branding and strategy.
